A matter of experience

James Barron MRICS was a chartered building surveyor for more than a decade before he founded Barron Surveying Services in 2004.

He keeps his skills and knowledge right up to date through Continuous Professional Development and has excellent contacts with planners, building regulations officials, building contractors and other professionals.

Under his direction, the practice has surveyed residential and commercial buildings, carried out asbestos surveys, designed extensions, and project-managed everything from domestic builds to major public and education sector buildings, like the performing arts theatre at Devonport High School for Boys in Plymouth.

The team includes Sara, a former bank manager with financial and administrative experience, and surveying technician Debbie, who started out using drawing boards and is now highly proficient in AutoCAD.

Sara oversees the day-to-day running of the company, and Debbie gives support as a surveying technician.
